Autumn Term 2023 |
Dear Parents and Carers
Another year has flown by and we hope that the new Year 3s have settled in to life at St Cuthbert Mayne School. Going by their performance with Year 4 in the Christmas Nativity it certainly looks like they have. On behalf of Caritas, I would like to say thank you to the children for coming along on a Sunday to perform a selection of songs and carols to some of our elderly parishioners at their Christmas Afternoon Tea event.
The work of the Governors
This term all the committees have met as part of the regular review and monitoring of the work that goes on in school. A number of consultations have taken place this term where parents, carers, and staff have been asked to take part namely academisation, the building project and the RE curriculum. All are important for the future of the school, its staff and pupils and we appreciate your feedback as part of the decision making process.
Academisation update
Having completed the consultation process, work is continuing to ensure there will be a smooth transition to becoming an academy and joining ASCAT. The final decision will be made by the Governing Board in the Spring Term.
Building Project
Work on the proposed building project continued over the summer months and the consultation took place early in October. Planning permission has now been submitted to Dacorum Council. If you are in support of the plans for the new school we would really appreciate it if you could submit your comments at St Cuthbert Mayne Planning Application. Select the option on-line or web comments and follow the instructions. It would be great to have some positive support for the project.
Finally ….
The Governors would like to say thank you to all the staff for the work they do to support your children. Thank you also to you the parents and carers for your continued support of the school. We hope you all have a Merry Christmas.
Best wishes for the New Year.
Maria Butchart
